Top Balance Transfer Credit Cards for 2014

Top Balance Transfer Cards for 2014Balance transfers are one of the best ways to tame credit card debt and save money on interest charges. Transferring a balance is always worth considering since the savings can be substantial – especially during the intro period. Even bigger savings come when you transfer large balances to a 0% APR credit card. Most companies provide zero APR balance transfers, but the best balance transfer credit cards will have the longest intro periods and lowest fees. Here are our top balance transfer credit cards for 2014:

How We Pick the Best Balance Transfer Offers

Balance transfer cards provide an excellent opportunity to save. There’s no shortage of 0% APR deals, so the objective is to find 0% APR credit cards with the longest introductory periods and the least amount of fees. Although it’s important to consider the ongoing interest rate (after the intro), this was only a secondary factor in our analysis since the assumption was that you’ll payoff the balance – or transfer to a new offer before the introductory period ends. Balance transfer fees were another important consideration, but impossible to avoid completely. We also looked for cards with no annual fees and took into consideration reward opportunities (if available).
